South Africa Retreat

It is HOT here in Bots! Thank God it's the Rainy Season!

Kb in her school uniform...thinking Princess Diary!

Luke is waiting for our supper to come

This is NOT our house!! But the hotel we stayed in...

The river is high (in background)....which is unusual and exciting in Botswana

Dodging Donkeys...

Our house!!! the wall is almost done...it will have electric voltage wire around the top

Randy driving on the left!

Jet lag? That's my excuse for some of the things I have written to people! First of all, we are 8 hours ahead of Central time. I've been told that I won't even remember these last two weeks...but maybe I can look on our blogspot and figure it all out! We have learned to drive stick shift with our left hand and stay on the left-hand side of the road (for the most part) while dodging goats, donkeys, baboons and cattle. We have survived a petro (gas) leak and being stranded in the parking lot of the mall (yes, a mall!) We saw a Warthog on the golf course we walked around and instead of squirrels running around...we see monkeys...getting into the trash! We have found out that we love Cheese Bread freshly baked from Pick-n-Pay...(one of the grocery stores) and that I can get Snicker Bars and Pepsi Light!

Our Prayer Retreat in South Africa near Johannesburg was awesome...we got to meet lots of our fellow workers on the field.

We have made two trips to Francistown...the last one to see Kelland as she is away from us and living with some sweet friends while she goes to school. Her school started and our house wasn't finished...so this was the solution. She is doing wonderful...but we miss her lots. Luke started homeschool and loves it here...he reminded me that his personality is a Golden Retriever...so he just goes with the flow!

We have talked to family and friends on Skype (thank you, Lord, for Skype) and are going to Immigration tomorrow to apply for our Residency visas...

Prayer Items:
-our home will be finished very soon
-Kb will do well in school away from us
-we will be safe on the road

-our paperwork for our visas will be correct
-pray for the people who are copying Scripture in our village that the Word of God will pierce their hearts and they will live the Way and love the Truth

Thank you for your prayers and emails...we feeled very loved. (kim)

Words from a Teenager..

WOW! I can't believe we've been here for a 5 days now! It's been pretty hot lately, but thats not stopping us from going out doing things! Well Saturday when we got here, 8 of our 14 pieces of luggage made it. The rest were stuck in Johannasbug, South Africa. We finally got all of them after 2 1/2 days. Tuesday we made a 5 hour drive to Francistown (my dad drove part of the way), which is where we'll be living, and checked out our house, which isn't done being built, and we also went to my new school. Oh my goodness. Let me tell ya, it was a stressful day. We drove 5 hours back to Gaborone and mom got to practice driving. hehe. she killed the motor once, but other then that it went pretty good.
Wednesday me & Luke went swimming with the Blankenship's and some of their friends! The waterpark we went to (yes I said WATERPARK) was fun! It wasn't huge er anything, but hey it was WATER! There were also some carnival type rides there that we rode! We were there for about 5 hours & iIguess me & Luke didn't put enough sunblock on becuase now we're burnt! Luke's shoulders hurt him the most while my neck hurts me the most. ahhh! be praying that it heals quickly! Because until then we gotta stay out of the sun.
Tomorrow we are leaving for a Prayer Retreat. We'll meet in South Africa someplace with other "M's" and that's all I really know right now. hehe. Pray for travel safety!
Well I guess that's it right now.. well all I can think of to say!
love you & miss you ALL tons!! *kisses*

The Trip and London

We spent many hours on planes and in airports! We were beginning to wonder if we could get there from here! London was awesome...we saw Buckingham Palace and the guards changing. We rode a double decker bus, saw Westminster Cathedral and ate at an upscale McDonalds... On our last flight I sat by a young doctor who is seeking...we had a two hour conversation about God...please pray for Dr. 'Ryan' in South Africa. (kim)

Our arrival...Naledi Baptist Church and time with friends...

We made it to Botswana just as the sun was coming up on Saturday Sunday was awesome! We actually got a good night's sleep...headed for church in the morning with the Davis family...ate great food...found one of the six pieces of luggage that was lost...and went for a walk...and the kids got to swim... Worship was great...we loved it! this week...driving lessons... (kim)
