The Farm Life...

This past week has been full of worship, fellowship and classes on Spiritual Warfare and Transition/Grief. This training we are in is so amazing. I can't even imagine going on the field without it. What is funny is that a few weeks ago I was wondering what we could possibly be doing here for 9 weeks! It is so awesome to be here with others who are going through all the same things we are. We have met people who are leaving grandbabies they just met, parents suffering from cancer, and family members who are unbelievers. We spent an afternoon just talking about how hard it is to leave the ones we love...but knowing the call is so strong. We are called to Him...not to a place.

Randy and I went on a three mile walk this afternoon. Kb went to quilting class with her friend, Alyssa...who is going to teach True Love Waits in Uganda...and Luke went to a local church for Trunk or Treating....and then to a birthday party. We have found that any celebration with something sweet served is well attended since there are very few desserts served here!

Tomorrow, 1 November, Randy is taking an ESL class and I am taking Luke to Kohl's for new shoes. I also have found out where Walmart, Target, Chick-fil-a and Lifeway are!!! We have made some very good friends, and they are generous too. It is harder than I thought to be here without a vehicle. The Kizziah's have let us use their Explorer.

Please pray for our family as we will retain all that we are trying to learn. It is a very full day with lots of information to remember. We love and miss you all!!

Life in Virginia for a 15 year old.

Hey everyone! man so I was gonna update out blog yesturday, but uh yeah.. totally forgot the password! hehe. Man we haven't had a post since the 13th. Sorry about that!

Okay so the first day at ILC was okay. I really didn't like being here & wanted to go home so bad, but after the first 3 days I was totally fine & now I LOVE it & I'm happy I get to stay 7 more weeks. hmm.. my goodness so much has gone on in the past almost 2 weeks! Okay so in my youth class there are 10 of us.. I'm the oldest. It was hard at first thinking about it, but my teacher Mrs. Deborah is great & I help her out whenever I can. Most of the others are 11, 12, & 13. I love them all! The first day it was soo awkward for us! hehe. now we're like brothers & sisters! There are 7 girls & 3 boys.

We always play tricks on each other & its soo funny! I'll have to write about those sometime soon.. when I have more time! Today is B & A's 12th b-day!! [they're twins] It was soo awesome at lunch today! Us girls circled B & started singing Happy B-day & then me & G went & made her a quick cake! It was soo awesome! A roll with carrots & ranch & fruit around it was soo beautiful! We all started laughing!

Well I have tons of stuff to do, but will totally write more later! [cause I have to tell you about ALL the funny things that have happened!] miss you tons & love you lots!

Saying Good-byes

We will be leaving for our training in Virginia a week from tomorrow. We have been saying farewell to three different churches. Chatham had a wonderful meal and reception for us on October 5th. Heartland had an awesome commissioning service this morning (the 12th) and next week we will worship at Cross Keys...that's where we began...We arrived in St. Louis (Florissant) in August 1994. Holly was 7, Scott was 5 and Kb was 1 and Luke would be born two years later. Randy came to be the Minister of Education and Families. We lived in the Hamilton House...transitional housing for workers going on the field. Now we are back in that same house which we think is kinda cool.

The Day is Getting Near!

*sigh* We leave in 24 days! Can you believe it?! We're all soo excited and wish we could just go NOW!! October 20th we will be flying to Richmond, Virginia to start training at the ILC! During our last 3 weeks here in St. Louis we're trying to squeeze as much as we can in before we go.. such as going to the Zoo, the Science Center, shopping, visiting with friends & family etc. I still can't believe the day is almost here. This year has gone by sooo fast! During my summer when I would hang out with friends, we would talk about all we wanted to do before I left, but I didn't like talking about WHEN we would leave. I wanted to enjoy every moment I could with who ever I was with, without worrying "Is this gonna be maybe my last time doing this with this person? My last time to see this person for 3 years... maybe even longer?" I prayed to God all year about this transition, to just give us a peace about it and He has!! At first I was excited, but not really sure I wanted to go. I mean as a teenager you wanna stay with your friends & go do silly stuff like TPing, or have lock-ins or go to camps with your youth group. I realized who cares if I miss that... where we're going I'll make friends and do that stuff with them. And I mean how many teens get the chance to go to AFRICA for 3 years to share their faith?! I'm soo happy about how many people there are who will be praying for us. Just thinking about it now.. woosh.. thats A LOT! hehe. During our time in Virginia & our travel to Botswana my mom & I will keep the Blog updated and get on as much as we can! God Bless! :]
